This pattern is written for knit and woven fabrics. While the bodice, collar option and basic sleeves must be 2-way stretch knit with a minimum of 50% stretch, the gathered sleeves and skirts can be done in knit OR woven fabrics. For a woven skirt with an overlay, we suggest flowy fabric, such as silk, voile or chiffon for a prettier drape.
