And we're back for round two! I hope you enjoyed all the day one looks that kicked off the Festival Fever Blog Tour! I love reading about all the details and inspirations that go into people's looks-- and about the fun and festive events that happen in the places our bloggers call home (personally, I am so ready to attend the Fried Pickle Festival, where ever that happens to be).
The more I read, the more excited I get to get out there and enjoy the local events my community offers (dare I say that I have Festival Fever? ha!). But in all honesty, I love sewing for specific events. To me, that's the perfect solution to lost sewjo: pick an event, a party, any little get together or outing in your week ahead, and make a goal of creating a new outfit to wear there. There's that Julia Child quote that "a party without cake is just a meeting". Well, if you ask me, a party without a new dress is just a meeting. I don't need much excuse at all to sew up something new! And today's blog posts are the perfect inspirations.

Amanda at Cross Stitches made an amazing Rival cowl to go along with her Heat Wave Hot Pants hack. What an awesome festival look! I know people ask all the time about turning the Heat Waves into pants, so you're going to want to check out all the details on her blog!
Meg at Threads of Magic made some truly inspired looks! This modified Rival jacket is an ode to Jimi Hendrix's iconic military jacket, with a steampunk twist. She also added some dramatic flair to the Drama Dress. Check out all her looks here (I, for one, am truly obsessed with that Rival jacket!).
Narelle at Threadistry knows how to celebrate her birthday right! She used this opportunity to create a top that's all about her! You have got to see the special touches her embroidery brings to this Super Sleeve Top (personally, one of my most-used patterns!). Check out the amazing subtle details over at Threadistry.
Livia of Liviality sewed up a gorgeous dress to give her the festival feel: light, happy and free! She made the With Love Dress in woven with an A-line skirt, pockets (from the Riot Skirt) and a Bonnaroo-inspired high/low hem. Find out more on her blog!
And as for me at Middle River Studio, I sewed up the hi-lo Bonnaroo Bundle skirt two different ways-- one with an elastic waistband and one mashed with the Sincerely Rylee Dress and some wide lace trim for a Pin-spired look. I love wearing these-- the skirts float so beautifully when I walk, I feel like a boho goddess. Read all the details over at Middle River Studio.
